Kocbank purchases additional shares of Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi A.S.
UniCredit announces that Koçbank A.S. ("Koçbank"), a 99.8%subsidiary of Koç Financial Services A.S., the 50/50 joint venturebetween UniCredit and Koç Group, has purchased 19,561,111 shares ofYapi ve Kredi Bankasi A.S. ("Yapi”) (of which ca. 5.9 million sharesalready held indirectly by Koçbank through Anatolia Investment Fund, inturn controlled by Yapi) for a consideration of ca. YTL 161 million(ca. €99 million at current exchange rate). As a result of theacquisition of these shares Koçbank"s overall shareholding in Yapi"sshare capital has increased from ca. 65.5% to ca. 67.3%. Consequently,Koçbank has achieved an ownership level sufficient to reach theconstitutive quorum required, pursuant to Turkish laws, for theapproval of extraordinary transactions by the Shareholders" Meeting ofYapi.
